I’m an urban, rural and industrial explorer. Mainly, I venture out, trying various roads in rural Ontario and look for abandoned houses, old buildings ghost signs, stone flowers, and other interesting (and usually old) things which I then photograph.

This year the CNE (Canadian National Exhibition) was not allowed to be open. But, the Carlsberg Championship team of horses haven’t been at the CNE for a long time. You can be happy being alone over the holidays, even your own birthday. Avoid being alone if you want. Or enjoy being alone if you want a break from being social.

I first heard of the word, bookpacking, in the Suite101 post. I think it is great to have an actual, understandable, word for something I have been doing since I learned to read.

I didn’t know Lorne Greene had done so much with radio and broadcasting. He must have been an early adapter in his generation. These days where might he be in broadcasting? I bet he’d have a podcast and a web radio show, at the very least. But, no one lives forever. I remember his voice.
