A Book About Ontario Cemeteries and Graveyards

I found a book with photographs and history of Ontario cemeteries and graveyards. There must be some difference between the two, I will look it up later. The book is by Jennifer McKendry. She is a history enthusiast in Kingston, Ontario. On her site she has written about antiques, architecture, old houses, and researching historic properties.… Read the rest

Bruce Brigham Abandoned Ontario Books

I remember the original website, which you can still see (the front page and not much else) with the Wayback Machine. I could not find an update about Bruce Brigham and both of his web domains abandonedontario.ca and abandonedontario.com are parked/ 404 now. Not a good sign. I exchanged an email with him, once, long ago.… Read the rest

Winnipeg felt like a ruralized version of Toronto. I liked the local transit, the people I met and, more importantly, Winnipeg has great history and old buildings. I’m looking forward to the arrival of the book!… Read the rest

The Hand Drawn Map Association is Archived

Sorry to see it closed. I loved the idea. I still draw the odd map, long hand. None of mine seem important enough to post though.

You can buy the book created by The Hand Drawn Map Assocation, with the best or most popular hand drawn maps.

The Hand Drawn Map Association of Canada – Maybe it will go somewhere.… Read the rest

I Want a Vintage/ Antique Library Cart

First, you should know, they are far more expensive than you would expect. (I was surprised). A new cart is also very expensive, plus there will be some assembly required with almost all of them. I can do the assembly, but… I’d still rather have an old cart assembled by someone else long ago. I don’t mind some wear, authentic wear, not contrived to look worn and aged.
