If this happened in the 1960’s how is it that I almost seem to remember it. Maybe it’s something else similar that I’m thinking of. Anyway, it was interesting finding this remnant of Canadian history tonight. This was for sale on ebay. I couldn’t afford it.
There are gases in mines, does that make you a little suspicious about stories that come from miners and whatever they might see, or think they see, deep underground?

This is called a dawn redwood tree. In 2015, it was voted as the most unique tree in the Great Toronto Tree Hunt. Unfortunately this is now 404 on the site and I could not find the photographs of the winning, or nominated trees. This is a very strange looking tree. Most of the Canadian science fiction television show I have ever watched end in cliffhangers which are never resolved because the show gets cancelled. You can find and watch them over and over again here and there but there will never be a real ending. Unending, never ending cliffhangers.

My Mother read about this company, Peace by Chocolate. I was surprised to find it in the Vince’s grocery store just a few days later. I bought two of them, one for her and the Canadian maple for me (I don’t love hazelnuts and I am fond of almost anything Canadian).

Efforts to restore the last water-powered mill on the Grand River began in 1981 but have consistently been curbed, mainly because of the funding issues.
The Golden Horseshoe Antique Society, which ran the town’s annual steam show, took on the project in 1981 when the Grand River Conservation Authority threatened to tear the mill down.
I’d like to read the books by Nick Eyles, about Canadian geology. Two of his books are about Ontario history and places to see for the rocks.

… Read the restBhat Boy’s exhibition, called the Old Train Station, featuring scenes from Ottawa’s original train station downtown [was] showcased at the Orange Art Gallery.
“One of the things that really interested me is that the old train station was the hub of industrial Ottawa before it became a government town,” Bhat Boy said in an interview.
According to a press release, the old train station, built in 1909 and located across from the Chateau Laurier was closed in 1966.
