Self-Driving Trucks Could Soon Follow Route 83 from Canada, to the US, to Mexico – CraveOnline

Plans to introduce autonomous trucks that will carry cargo along Route 83 are underway, with vehicles such as the self-driving Inspiration Truck being included in a blueprint that will see vehicle corridors specifically designed for the autonomous fleet being introduced on the long stretch of road.

If the US Pulled their Military…?

I think the US needs these conflicts in other countries to sustain their military and sell arms. What you did not take account of how much the US economy relies on China. How much of the US economy/ business is in China/ Asia. Also, the US government relies and sustains the fear US people have for other cultures and countries. Without ongoing fear I don’t think the US people would continue to support the US military with taxes and human beings. But, the biggest issue I have with your video is the fact that your President keeps saying he will create jobs for the US. How will that be when so much industry is now in China, imported to the US. The US would have to stop trading with China and being building it’s own industry back up again. That would create jobs but there would be hardship for the US people until they could catch up again. Does the US still have the resources to stand on it’s own, economically and survive without relying on China and other outside resources? Right now, I don’t think so. It would be a struggle for them. A lot of food, in particular, comes from other countries.

However, the US does rely on China for a lot of imports. A lot of jobs and industry are no longer in the US but are imported from China/ Asia. I don’t think you included that in your documentary. Is it possible for the US to pull back at this point? Can they stop selling arms and producing military and bring back industry which they mainly import now? How much of US trade relies on arms sales to keep the balance of the US economy? US industry seems to be entertainment and tourism, which is not very sustainable if they isolate themselves and lack the resources to produce enough food and materials for building and repair, etc. If the US stopped exporting their resources would they be able to use them, so much industry would have to be rebuilt before production could start.

What Makes America the Greatest Country in the World?

theusakingQ&A: “What Makes America the Greatest Country in the World?”.

America is not a country. It’s a landmass made up of two continents: North America and South America. Here, let me describe them…

(Link to the full post is above).

This is my comment:

Thank you for your post! We talk about the same idea, how America and American could mean anyone from North or South America. Why don’t people in the US have their own name for their people? Sometimes we call them USers or USians, but they really should have a better name. I don’t know of any other country which does not have a word or phrase for it’s citizens. It’s kind of weird really.

If we talk to people from the US about this they get all huffy about it. “Americans are Americans!”. But, in fact, Americans could be Mexican or Canadian or Chilean, etc. USians are a people without a name of their own.

Even “United States” or “United States of America” is non-descriptive.  There are other countries with the same name, more or less.

Anyway, I thought it was just a few of us up here in Canada who thought about this at all. Nice to see someone else has noticed.

Gun Training in Canadian Schools?

As a Canadian the customs of the United States sometimes seem to lack perspective. As if everything is slightly skewed in the wrong direction and values are more for money and fame than life and living. Guns are a big deal in Canada, but for most Canadians it is about not having them or using them. Gun control in Canada is fairly welcome while in the US it is still a big issue.

It isn’t that Canadians don’t hunt or protect themselves. However, I have lived in Canada all but a couple of years of my life and have only ever held and then fired a gun once and that was during time spent in the US, not in Canada at all. I have seen the odd gun (outside of TV shows/ movies). I never thought to take a look at any of them. It was only in the US where I was invited to fire a gun and that was not while hunting for anything but during a holiday where guns were fired randomly, for entertainment.
gun training and control
This was posted to Facebook and though it was meant for the US people, it did not specify them solely, so I answered it. Usually I would read it and think of a reply but not post it. I leave the US people to their own thing, especially when it comes to something about guns and other issues which are so different in Canada versus the US. It is better to disagree in silence. Today I left a post, maybe it will give them another angle to think about. Likely not. But, this time I posted anyway.

I went to elementary school in the 1970s. We never had any kind of weapon training or safety training for weapons, not in high school, college or university either. The only time in my life I have ever touched a gun (other than a water pistol) was when I lived in the United States.

How Will the God-Fearing Own Up in the End?

To those who believe in God and the Bible… your book says humans are the stewards/ the caretakers of the Earth. You worry about getting into heaven or going to hell for your sins…

How will you explain the mess the planet is in, the animals being killed by human pollution and human over population and all the rest – to your boss? Do you even think about the production, consumption and packaging which you throw away every day? Do you ever wonder were it all ends up? Do you really try to use less or is it easier to just go ahead and do what you want and just buy more stuff?

When you think about your sins, consider those against the environment, the planet and the life on it. Maybe your God will be upset about the wreckage of the planet more than the small sins you think are so important, to you.

I’m not perfect. I won’t pretend I don’t cause pollution and add to the problems of the planet. But, I do think about the planet and, being human, I do think we are responsible for the planet and our own actions. I don’t expect any higher power to come along and fix everything while forgiving us all for making such a mess of it all.
