Is It Possible to Really Photograph a Ghost?

Has there ever been a photo which completely proves the existence of ghosts? I think it is sad that most photos, which people see ghosts in, can have simple explanations. But, does that mean they should be entirely discounted?

I read a post about photos of ghosts which the writer believes are creepy and proof of ghosts. I didn’t see even one photo or image which proves anything to me, not fully. Some are interesting, some questionable, tricks of light and perception, mistakes about when the photo was actually taken, and some are probably fakes.

Photo Source: 13 Creepy Photos That Will Convince You Ghosts Are Real – Weird Worm

This photo, from Australia, was taken in 1959. Its called “The Woman at Corroboree Rock”. Do you see the image of a woman among the trees, leaves, light and shadow? I can see it, when I look for it.

I don’t think this photo is a fake. There is a possibility it was set up and configured to look like something was there, but just as likely it was random. What is there are leaves, shadows, a small log/stick on the ground, etc. I don’t believe its a ghost.

If that small log on the ground is the edge of her skirt, she is abnormally tall. Her face isn’t large enough for her body to be that long. Or, should we rethink and only look at what might be a face, hair and hands? The arm is oversized, but she could have been wearing puffy sleeves that day. Her hand is about the size of her face, she is out of proportion all over.

If you look to the left, I can see the face of a monkey. What else can you see if you look at this photo long enough?

Sorry ghost believers, but its just not enough for me to fully believe. I do feel a bit sad not to believe. I do feel those who believe in ghosts and want to prove their existence have a real uphill battle. One obstacle being people who question them and the other people who create fakes and try to fool everyone with them.

In the end, this is all about your perception and what you want to see or believe. If you are looking for something, chances are pretty good you will find it.

WordPress Plugins That Might Work for Selling Your Photographs On Your Site

This is not a review, just a list. I haven’t decided which of these to even load up and try first. But, here for your amusement or practical use, are the plugins I have found for the idea of selling my photographs online, on my own site instead of Etsy, CafePress, and any other similar sites. In the past I tried Zazzle for selling my art on things. I was the only one who bought anything over several months. So, I’m not too keen on using one of those third party sort of sites again. I don’t know how this idea, selling them myself, will go. But, I don’t think it can be any worse. In theory.

So here are the links, not in any order of interest or usefulness. (I’m not 100% sure all of them are still active enough to use, so consider these “use at your own risk”). Some are free, open source, and some are not. I’ve added a couple which don’t work with WordPress, they are stand alone for your website domain.

Mad Science with Robots

Have you ever seen fights of engineering with remote controlled robots? There are TV shows like Robot Wars and Battle Bots. Robot Wars talks more about the engineering and construction of the robots.

Understanding how the height, or complete flatness being low to the ground works. Figuring out whether a swinging blade of some kind works to fend off other bots. Or, something to help reset it when it gets tipped over in the fight. How to keep it mobile when other bots slash at its tires.

There is a lot of science in building a robot, especially one designed to fight other robots.

People who build and battle robots in Ontario.

Bot Brawl – Ontario robot fighting league. Planning to have events in 2021.(Old site, Bot Brawl and a Facebook link).

Robot Riots – Toronto based robot fight club, but the site seems abandoned since 2005.

I found this image on a free wallpaper site but I don’t know who the original artist is. Of course, this is not practical for actual robot fighting. This looks fabulous as an image but would not work well against remote controlled robots so carefully and cleverly engineered for combat. Cosmetic, not so well with function.

Strange Ontario?

I bought the domain Strange Ontario.com and I may move this site and other content over there. I am not finding an easy way to post/host all my photos online. Part of the problem being image size and the other image theft. One makes everything load really slowly, or not at all. The other means someone else is taking credit for and possibly selling my photos. Both, are frustrating. Plus, I’m just not feeling the enthusiasm I used to have for running/ producing sites. I think it is temporary. Now and then I miss it or get a great idea, things just seem to end up fizzling.

Maybe (another) fresh start will help. Without the stuff I’ve already tried to fix and patch and throw together.

Art & Home Reposted the Old House from Bradford

One of my photos was included in an article about abandoned houses, on a site called Art & Home.

They added it from Pinterest, known for being a great source of photographs (I’m joking). So there is no attribute or link to me.

It bugs me that I don’t seem to have my original image file for this photo (and most of the others from this house) any more. Every image I have is shrunken, smaller than my original. I shrunk them for posting online and maybe the big originals were lost somewhere along the way. I keep hoping I will turn them up.

As far as the Pinterest thing, what can you do? There’s a lot of theft online, intentional and unintentional. Easier to just post the image than backtrack it to the source. Even if you find a source, how can you know it is the right source. Things are pretty messed up. This is why I am working on watermarking images before I post any more of them. Where ever they wander, at least there will be something to show where they came from. In theory.

Want to find this house? You won’t. It was demolished years ago. Bradford, Ontario.

Animals Are Not Pests, or Pets

I found this on a site about bats. I think this applies to all animals and plants too, people should be giving animals, plants and nature in general space. Why do people want to control everything?

Text version of the image:

BatsRule – just because you can’t touch it, cuddle it, control it, profit from it, doesn’t mean its useless, ugly or a pest.
