Afterwards for Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is over for another year. How did you score? Isn’t that a bad way to think of it!

What could be all romance, cuddles and affection has become about retail, shopping and spending. No, I’m not going on a retail rant. I’ve worked retail enough to live and let live. People need to change, if they want to.… Read the rest

Happy December!

December is my favourite month. It’s not just because Christmas is this month. If anything I can think of several things (like my birthday now that I’m 40+) that could take away the luster of December, if I let them. There is just something about the month of December, the first snowfall (even though it started in November this year, if you want to get technical).… Read the rest

Homestyle Pancakes with Fresh Berries – Astro.ca

Homestyle Pancakes with Fresh Berries – Astro.ca.

Astro has a new caramel yogurt. It’s delicious. So far I can only find it at one store here. Went to their site and found this pancake recipe. I haven’t tried adding yogurt to pancakes before. Just butternilk. Sounds like a good idea, though I don’t think I’d use the caramel yogurt for pancakes.… Read the rest

Cinnamon Bun Cookies

I want to try these. I need to get stocked up on butter and I’m nearly out of milk too. But, don’t these make you crave cinnamon buns? Take a look at the photos on Claudia’s blog.

Would it really be too much to dip these in chocolate? Maybe it the chocolate isn’t overly sweet. It would look pretty good.… Read the rest

Polka Dots Cheer Me Up

I think I have had a thing for polka dots since I was a kid and read about some creature with polka dots in a Dr. Seuss book. I don’t remember which book. But, since then, polka dots can always cheer me up.

Emma Bridgewater is known for her polka dot designs. I picked out the teacup and saucer even though I seldom drink tea.… Read the rest

Chocolate Inspiration

For the A – Z Blogging Challenge… I is for Inspiration.

Chocolate inspires me. The darkness of it is alluring. The sweetness is souls smoothing. The way it melts is sensual. I’d like to find a chocolate cheesecake recipe with a lot of chocolate, one that will be like melted chocolate in your mouth.

Name something that inspires you and write about how it inspires you, how it makes you feel.

Old Fudge Recipe

My Aunt Alvena had a fudge recipe she would not share with anyone. Now she is gone. I sometimes wonder about her recipe. They say it was exceptionally good fudge. She would keep it all to herself (as much as she could) when she made it. I heard this from my Aunt Emma, her younger sister.… Read the rest
