One of them, <span class=\"removed_link\" title=\"http:\/\/www.dishtip.com\/r\/ny\/brooklyn\/jen-%27n-outlaw%27s\/top-dishes\/91651\">Jen and Outlaws<\/span>, was serving southern US traditional fare. I was surprised to see friend pickles, I&#8217;ve never heard of the idea before. It sounded pretty good with buttermilk and crispy coating on them.<\/p>\n<p>This recipe from the Bick&#8217;s Pickles site isn&#8217;t the same but I didn&#8217;t see a recipe for the other:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bicks.ca\/recipes.aspx\">Spicy Fried Pickle Sticks and Dip<\/a><br>\n1 jar Bick\u2019s\u00ae Baby Dills &#8211; Garlic<br>\nor Bick\u2019s\u00ae Baby Dills &#8211; 50% Less Salt<br>\n2 eggs<br>\n1 1\/2 cups (375 mL) seasoned bread crumbs<br>\n1 tsp (5 mL) garlic powder<br>\n2 tsp (10 mL) cayenne pepper (or to taste)<br>\n1 tsp (5 mL) black pepper<br>\nOil for deep frying<br>\nDip:<br>\n\u00bd cup (125 mL) Bick\u2019s\u00ae Zesty Onion Relish<br>\n\u00bd cup (125 mL) sour cream<br>\n1. Preheat oil in deep fryer to 375\u00baF (190\u00baC). Drain and rinse pickles, cut into quarters lengthwise and pat dry. Lightly mix eggs in small bowl with fork, until frothy. Combine bread crumbs and seasonings in separate bowl.<\/p>\n<p>2. Dip each pickle stick in egg, then in breadcrumb mixture. Fry in small batches, 45 \u2013 60 seconds, until golden brown and crispy. Serve with dip.<\/p>\n<p>3. Dip: Combine ingredients in small bowl.<\/p>\n<p>Preparation Time: 30 minutes<br>\nCooking Time: 1 minute per batch<\/p>\n<p>Makes: 10 servings<\/p>\n<p>Tip:<br>\n1. For a thicker coating, dip in egg, then breadcrumbs, then egg and breadcrumbs again.
