Worldwide association of writers. Exists to promote friendship and intellectual co-operation among writers everywhere, to fight for freedom of expression and represent the conscience of world literature.
The funny thing about freedom is, to give freedom to one person you usually have to take it away from another.
There is also PEN Canada. Of course I had to look for the Canadian version.
