The other night, dear, as I lay sleeping
I dreamed I held you in my arms
When I awoke, dear, I was mistaken
So I hung my head and cried
You are my sunshine, my only sunshine
You make me happy when skies are grey
You'll never know, dear, how much I love you
Please don't take my sunshine away
I'll always love you and make you happy
If you will only say the same
But if you leave me to love another
You'll regret it all someday
You are my sunshine, my only sunshine
You make me happy when skies are grey
You'll never know, dear, how much I love you
Please don't take my sunshine away
You told me once, dear, you really loved me
And no one else could come between.
But now you've left me and love another,
You have shattered all my dreams.
You are my sunshine, my only sunshine
You make me happy when skies are grey
You'll never know, dear, how much I love you
Please don't take my sunshine away
As kids we lived in a small town, Kincardine, near Lake Superior. My Dad worked in Toronto and I hardly remember him being there at all. Mom and my brother and baby sister would drive back and forth from our country/farm house (run down wreck) to the town. The road went right alongside the lake. I can remember Mom singing You are My Sunshine as we drove along. :)
Here I am alone again. My parents were here visiting but they left this morning. I gave Mom my old computer, Fritzie. She is glad to have a good computer to get online with and learns as she goes. :) Sad to be here without them, alone with Todd and his family.
I've got the Ask the Witch site in a state of chaos. I found Geocities would not work with my FrontPage 2000. It works well with the site I've had up for a few months but not the new one. I don't know why. Todd was reading about it and says its to do with changes they are making at the Geocities site. Anyway, I went to poke around at old Tripod and found it very interesting. They now have a weblog and ezine template which include CGI and archives. So now Ask the Witch is between Geocities and Tripod. I'm not sure where it will end up or how. I am thinking of going with the ezine template and maybe keeping Geocities as just the front page so I can continue to use the email account I set up there. Tripod/ Lycos is being a bit tricky about starting another email account. I may yet figure it out though.
There is a feeling of terror in the newsgroups, people are in a panic and try to escape this new terror before it can load on a website. What is this dreaded thing? A Comet cursor. Doesn't sound so terrifying you think. Me too. But you should see them in the newsgroup where I mentioned using them. LOL I think people are getting into too much paranoia over the tiniest chance or thought of spam. They say Comet Cursors will track your web surfing and report it back to ??? I don't think they know either. I would guess the most logical would be commercial sites/ stores. I wrote to Comet Cursors to find out about this and heard back within a week. I was told the whole thing is just a rumour, based on very little fact. I believe them. Am I just very trusting? No, I just don't see why anyone would think my surfing habits are all that interesting. Read my blog, do I seem like someone leading a life of excitement and ultimate naughtiness? So, I've added a cursor to this blog, I have had one on my website for a couple of years and I will be putting one on HerCorner when it goes up too. Does that scare you? Too bad. Oh no, I'm not laughing at you, honest.
The weekend is over. Here I am. Email isn't working today, its most likely the server cause it was last week when the same thing happened. This time they don't have the excuse of a stormy day. Its like summer here today. I have windows open and the fan blowing the cobwebs around. Soon Todd will be here, honking the horn for me to bring the weekend videos down to him. I think we will take a ride around the park and pick up another loaf of bread.
Right now I'm over at Stor Entertainment making a StorTrooper of myself. I couldn't find just the right top but its pretty good.
I talked to my Mom this morning soon after Todd left. They are leaving tomorrow morning from Florida. She is figuring on a two day drive to get here. So I've got that long to kill the dust bunnies and less cute dust, dirt and so on which I've been neglecting.
The following is the introduction I had written for my website on Geocities, posted March 25th, 2001.
I'm a Sagittarius, year of the Dragon kind of woman. I like being outdoors, having a great coffee in the city mall, spending too much time in bookstores, traveling around on a shoestring budget, comfortable shoes, Civilization 2, Carmageddon 2 and Caesar3, cats (predatory animals in general), writing, reading, sewing, quilting and embroidery, yellow smiley faces, being on the Internet, publishing online, Wicca, nature, tulips and wildflowers, ascii art, Raggedy Ann, taking pictures but not so much being in them, history, my family, Christmas and Halloween.
My favourite colour is deep dark red. My favourite food is chocolate ice cream with nuts and sauce. Though I have found a really great vanilla flavour called Vanilla Storm but its not always available. My favourite smells are vanilla and lemon, not together. My favourite place to travel to is British Columbia, Canada. My favourite time of day is very early in the morning. My favourite time of year is a tie between Spring and Winter. I don't like people who are fussy nitpickers, they usually look for ways to stab you in the back. I like people who enjoy life but aren't aggressively perky about it.
I used to write to pen pals around the world and trade postcards and coins with them. I met my husband when we were both 14 and began writing as pen pals. I still like to collect postcards and old Canadian coins. I enjoy learning new things about computers and the Internet, history and nature. I can't ever see myself being one of those tidy, organized people. I live in chaos yet I know where everything is, until someone moves it. I always have projects on the go, half done or not quite started yet. No doubt that tells you a lot about the kind of person I am. But, if you're the sort of person to sit there feeling superior we'll never get along anyway. :)
I can't keep the shortened forms clear in my head, just too much crammed in there I guess. :)
Todd and I just got the next round of paperwork from Vermont (VT?). Mostly, its a questionnaire about all my past work as a spy. ;) Todd is working on filling it all out. Then, he is planning for me to go to Chicago or wherever and deliver it all. Is there an interview then? I really thought I was finished with the solo part of this. But Todd cant really take more time off from work. I feel kind of lost in paperwork. I don't know what part we are working on now.
Hope you will all be having a nice New Years. If you aren't married or with your fiance make sure you spend the time with your family well. Later you will have all the time you want with him/ her and only phone calls with your family.
