Things That Make the Woman

It's amazing how many women and our potential, pride, safety, happiness, have been sacrificed for the male penis. We can't even imagine how different our society would be if women were treated as people and not sex toys all along. For every one thing that could have been different there are several more affected by it. Like a wall of dominos, not just a chain.

It is an ongoing process, mostly because men, and some women, don't want to change. Men see the role of women and do not want it for themselves. Not the reality, just the cosmetics, clothes, and sex which are traps, not things that make the woman.

What is a woman? People can't even answer that now. Things have become such a complicated mess. Women are getting worn down and rubbed out of existence. That will show them, right boys?

Not all men... they say. People, none of us, can really see the full picture. I think a computer devoted to the task could eventually figure out what the world, our society and culture, would be like if men were not dominating women, if sex were not such a huge part of our culture, if sex was about making babies instead of playtime, if women had been valued and appreciated as people (as a partner) all along.

Men, Be Safe, Assume the Answer is NO!

So much responsibility is placed on women for their own safety. Why is so little placed on men, even for their own behaviour? Men if you are at all unsure, play it safe and assume her answer is NO! Make sure both of you get home, alive, safe, and unmolested. Its not that tough to do.

It is inevitable that more men will earn less than their female partners…

It is inevitable that more men will earn less than their female partners in years to come. To pull their weight, they will have to do more at home. There are few signs that women want househusbands; but though they don’t want a man who does all the housework they often want one who does more of it. And doing more chores could ultimately make blue-collar men happier, because it would help them forge happy relationships. As the experience of white-collar men shows, more equal unions can be just as rewarding for men as the old-fashioned sort.

When men live with women on more equal terms, they may grow closer to their children. Fathers may find they like being attentive, and it would certainly be good for their kids, especially the boys. As one man whose dad abandoned him lamented on Fathers’ Day in 2008:“[Fathers] are teachers and coaches. They are mentors and role models. They are examples of success and the men who constantly push us toward it. But if we are honest with ourselves, we’ll admit that what too many fathers also are is missing—missing from too many lives and too many homes. They have abandoned their responsibilities, acting like boys instead of men. And the foundations of our families are weaker because of it.”

It's OK to Celebrate Fatherless or Anti-Father's Day

Anti-Father's Day isn't (or shouldn't) be about being angry.

It is for people who do not fit into the whole package of Happy Father's Day. It gives us permission to grieve, to feel hurt, to feel lost or sad, or angry or upset, or anything of a thousand and one other emotions. Regret included.

I did not have a good relationship with my Father. When he died over ten years ago I did not understand why I grieved. A friend told me I was regretting that now nothing could ever change. Our relationship could never have any chance to get better because he died and that ended all hope.

Anti-Father's Day acknowledges that Father's Day does not have the same meaning and happy feelings for everyone. Happy Fatherless Day! (June 13th)

You're not the only one who has a troubled relationship with their Father.

Anti-Father's Day is not about having a less than ideal relationship with your Father.

It isn't about wishing things could be great rather than just good. Anti-Father's Day is for people who suffered and may still suffer. It recognizes that not everyone had the life where buying a Father's Day card was just like in the commercials, the family TV shows, or right out of the pages of a glossy magazine.

Everyone who celebrates Anti-Father's Day should be doing so without bitterness. On this one day, let it go. Choose to make this day about yourself rather than past emotions. Don't buy that Father's Day card and be okay with that decision. Don't feel guilty. Don't feel you owe him a card because that's what you see on some TV show. Don't make a cake. Don't plan a party. Don't even visit him, or his grave. (Unless you can do so without bitterness, pain or pettiness).

Do something just for yourself on Anti-Father's Day.

If you are a Father yourself, spend the time with your children. Give them the Father's Day you wish you had had with your own Father.

If you are an Uncle, or a brother, spend the time with your extended family, especially any children who don't have a Father and would love to have the Father's Day other kids have been talking about.

If you want to make this day something just for yourself rather than give time to others, don't feel guilty because you don't need permission. Seize the day. Go to the local zoo, museum, take a road trip, go to a sporting event of your choice. Do something you have wanted to do but did not have the time - make Father's Day your own day to enjoy. Give yourself better memories.
