What would a monster eat for breakfast?
I think a mechanical monster would eat old rusted out cars from the junkyard. He would especially love crunching on the engine parts. But sometimes bits would get stuck in his teeth. Then he would have to use some rope, to floss with.
A deep sea monster would eat ocean sludge. You know that gunky looking stuff that sometimes floats around near the shore. He would never want to eat swimmers, people especially. They give him indigestion. But the sludge stuff slips on down and makes him feel good all over.
A flying monster needs to eat light. He would just swallow used up clouds. Those clouds just after a rain or a storm. Once they have used up all their rain and thunder that's when they taste the best.
A tunneling monster, who lives far underground would eat rocks. His favourites are those dull grey looking ones. They may not look pretty but to him they taste like chocolate cake and ice cream. He munches them down five at a time.
A ghost monster doesn't really eat at all. That's why he is so thin you can see right through him. He thinks some day he will disappear completely. He actually wants to. I'm not sure why.
The house monster is really very shy and likes to hide and never be seen at all. He gets scared by kids and especially big people. He really does like kids though, he wishes he could play all the great games they play. Most of all he wishes he was brave enough to go outside and see all the great stuff there. Of course, he would have to come back inside because he only eats dust bunnies, those kind of fluff balls made of dust and bits of other stuff that collect under couches and beds. The dust bunnies don't like being eaten but without the house monster those dust bunnies would soon have so many dust bunny babies around that you wouldn't have room for the couch or the bed. Its a good thing most homes have one house monster around. My house monster lives in my closet. Some times I try to chat with him. But, as I said he is so very shy. He keeps hoping I will just leave him alone so he can go back to being quiet and shy.
Who is your favourite monster and what does he eat? Where does he live? Is he as friendly as all my monsters?
Did you ever think that you're the star of your own life? When you wake up in the morning the film starts rolling and doesn't take a break until you fall asleep for the night.
Think of your clothes as the costume you will be wearing that day. What kind of role will you be playing today? Should you look casual or classy?
How will you style your hair and please don't forget to brush those teeth! A star must have a million dollar smile.
Keep souvenirs and autographs in a scrapbook or journal. Add all your momentos from the day to it, your comments about how the movie is going. Did you play your part well that day or could you have been a little kinder, a little more patient, just a bit bolder?
So think about being the star of your own movie as you get dressed in the morning. Plan the costume you need for the day and don't forget to bring the props you need. Also, be careful with your lines. Make sure you are heard and understood by your public, your fans.
House cleaning is usually not a lot of fun.
If I was going to make it more interesting, faster and longer lasting I would hook the whole house up to a vacuum and just suck everything out of it. All the dust, dirt, cobwebs and furniture would swoosh right out and leave just bare walls, bare floors and a completely clean house.
The problem would be keeping any furniture, appliances, clothes and such around. It could be pretty expensive to replace all of that sort of stuff each time you sucked them out of the house. So I guess we need a better idea.
I don't have a better idea right now. Do you?
If you met a Mad Scientist and became friends, what would you ask her to invent for you?
A time machine was my first thought. There would be endless great ideas you and your Mad Scientist friend could work on. How about traveling in space, or deep under the ocean? Figure out the age old quest of turning ordinary metal (lead) into gold. They call that alchemy. Or you could learn how to fly with wings made for people or some kind of jet backpack, not so different from those in cartoons.
So many great ideas. How about putting together your own specialized super computer. A computer that hooks up directly to the Internet and has a connection the speed of lightening. You could play online games with your friends, get all the information you need for your homework and projects in just minutes.
Of course, you and the Mad Scientist could just build your own robot. Give your robot human features, skin and etc. and send him or her out to do all the boring stuff like walking the dog, cleaning the yard and going to school with all your friends. Or, maybe not. Would you really want to miss your friends at school, jumping in the pile of leaves when you clean the yard or spending time running around with your dog? Some things are work and fun at the same time.
I'd still like to try that time machine. First, I'd have to decide whether I want to go backwards or forwards into time. I guess, with our own time machine I could do both, take as many trips as I wanted.
So, where to you meet a Mad Scientist these days?
Would you want to be an animal? Sometimes I would like to be a whale. I could dive into the deepest parts of the ocean where no people have been. Down there I would find sunken pirate ships and chests of treasure. I'd find their maps to secret buried treasure too. When I had all I wanted I would turn into a person again so I could spend all my loot.
Sometimes I would like to be a wolf. I'd run with the pack, howl at the moon and scout around the wilderness until I couldn't walk another step. The wolf can smell and hear things better than people too. I would enjoy experiencing that. What things would I hear that I've never heard before.
Sometimes I'd like to be a seagull. Soaring over the ocean waves, the beaches and the cities, watching everything fly by beneath me. I would perch somewhere high up, on the head of a gargoyle or steeple of a church. The wind would be blowing on my feathers. Soon I'd smell some french fries dropped in a parking lot and I'd swoop down to grab them up before all the other gulls could get them.
It would be great to be a dragon. They can do all of those things. But, a big dragon would have trouble sitting on a small branch or church steeple. True dragons like to hoard treasure but I'd like to spend some of it. I don't think a lot of stores would calmly accept a dragon coming in to buy the latest bestseller. Being a person is all right too, its who I am. But now and then I think about all the fun of being an animal and the special things I could do.
