That's true too often. But, its up to each person every day to do differently. Easy to complain and blame others for how the world is... what have you done yourself to make it different/ better? Not pointing at you and yet it is each individual who can make a difference in small ways. Different choices. Maybe keep criticisms back and find something good to say instead. Or just give a friendly smile even on a day when you are stressed, down, etc yourself.

Also, it is true that a smile makes them wonder what you're up to.

No, because people are more than just one thing, one dimensional. We don't have to agree about everything or see everything the same way. Unless someone is very aggressive and disrespectful, I am not expecting everyone else in the world to be all sweetness and light. But you can treat people, plants, the planet itself with a little patience, if not kindness.

Other than someone like a serial killer, someone very abusive, violent, aggressive, I think I can stand by what I wrote. I hope I can. It has been tested a time or three, so far.

The hobby or sport of hobby horsing is about holding onto a hobbyhorse while performing (there are competitive tournaments) like a horse and rider. This can include show jumping (hurdles), barrel racing, galloping, and dressage. Mainly young women. Much easier for them to do all the running and jumping. Also, they might not feel silly about performing with a toy horse. I think its great exercise and something creative and active to do.

Riders are judged for their coordination, balance, energy and body control and overall performance of show with energy and style. Also for the grooming of the hobbyhorse!

Hobby horsing is a sport with gymnastic elements which uses hobby horses, also known as stick horses. Movement sequences similar to those in show jumping or dressage are partly simulated in courses. The participants predominantly use self-made hobby horses.

In Finland, the country of origin of the hobby, an annual national championship is held in addition to regional competitions. Popular with girls and young women between the ages of 12 and 18 years. The first Australian national championship was held in Queensland in 2024. The European championships of hobby horsing will be hosted for the first time ever in 2026 in the Czech Republic. It will be hosted by the IHHF (International Hobbyhorse Federation).

My Mother likes to drive around looking, studying, homeless people and drug addicts wandering around in the town/city here. I don't understand. My first instinct is to avoid them. I don't seek them out for conversations. I don't feel hugely sorry for them or really want to know the story of their life. It is enough to manage my own life with its ups, downs and sideways.

Often, like now, she will just go off in the car and park on the main street where the homeless drug addicts and whatever else they are, gather. Here it is right at the intersection where McDonalds, payday loans, a pot store (sold in stores here in Ontario) and a pharmacy handing out free drugs for addicts (also currently an Ontario thing), are. Handy, one stop shopping for them.

If we are out shopping for groceries, something she needs from the hardware store, etc. I will be in the car too. Mom doesn't walk so well these days so I'm there to do the shopping, the walking around part. Almost every time she goes for a look at her "homies and druggies" taking me along with her, like it or not. I don't. I don't like anything about it.

Why do some people have this fascination with the down and out? Also known as street people, but you could assume that was anyone walking along a street. It isn't about people watching, or it is a specialized version of it.

If I look into it I may not like what I find, so I'm putting it off.
